NEW ZEALAND'S GREATEST JOB CLUB

Five very talented chefs have been announced as the 2019 Beef + Lamb NZ Ambassador Chefs. Their job? To encourage innovation and creativity amongst their fellow chefs…and generally be foodie rock stars.

Following the announcement of the 173 Beef and Lamb Excellence Award holders for 2019, we selected five of the top rated chefs from the assessments.

The five selected for the coveted roles are;(pictured above L-R) Freddie Ponder (Table Restaurant, New Plymouth), Pablo Tacchini (Cucina, Oamaru), Jarrod McGregor (Rothko at Sculptureum, Matakana), Andrew May (Amayjen the Restaurant, Feilding) and Scott Buckler (No. 31 Restaurant, Hanmer Springs).

Our advice, book a table at their restaurants asap as the waiting list is likely to be getting longer than an Auckland traffic jam.

The Beef + Lamb Ambassador Chefs’ roll of honour looks like a who’s who of Kiwi culinary trailblazers, with the quintet following in the footsteps of some of New Zealand’s most celebrated chefs. Peter Gordon, Ben Bayley, Sid Sahrawat, Kate Fay and Rex Morgan are just a few of Aotearoa’s finest that have featured in an ambassadorial capacity for Beef + Lamb New Zealand over the 23 years of the Beef and Lamb Excellence Awards.

And finally, are you a food fanatic? Are you that person that will always take the tiki tour to swing by that food joint everyone’s going on about? Then listen up. Each of the ambassador chefs will be hosting an Ambassador Series Dinner – in case you were wondering what that is, it’s a showcase evening where they will be giving us a glimpse at how damn good they are at cooking with beef and lamb.

And if that wasn’t enough, each chef will be paired with one of our Platinum Ambassador chefs to co-lab on the dinner. I know…our mouths are already watering in anticipation.

Tickets sell out faster than steak on special at the supermarket, so keep tuning in to find out the dates so you can say ‘I was there’.
